Red Sox F5 (-135) 1u
The Red Sox have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the past month, turning their season around with consistently strong starting pitching and timely offense while climbing back into the playoff race.
The F5 moneyline allows us to capitalize on that advantage without exposing ourselves to the unpredictability of the late innings. We have seen too many quality handicaps get spoiled by bullpen meltdowns or late-game swings, which is exactly why we moved away from full-game MLB moneylines. At -135, we are laying a fair price while also getting valuable push protection if the game is tied after five. We don’t need Boston to hold a lead for all nine innings, we simply need them to take control early, which has been a strength during their recent run of success.
From a DTB perspective, this play checks every box. It graded as the highest-rated option on today’s board, the number is still within our value range, and it fits our updated philosophy of betting the best market, not just the team we expect to win.
Prediction: Red Sox 3-1 after 5
Brewers Team Total o4.5 (-140) .75u
The Brewers have consistently produced quality at-bats throughout the season and continue to be one of the more balanced lineups in baseball. They don’t rely on one hitter to carry the offense, which makes them difficult to navigate over the course of nine innings. Against a Colorado pitching staff that has struggled to limit scoring opportunities, I like Milwaukee’s chances of putting together enough offense to reach five runs.
The biggest reason I prefer the team total is that it removes unnecessary variables. We don’t need to worry about Milwaukee’s bullpen protecting a lead or Colorado finding a way to steal the game late. If the Brewers’ bats do their job, this ticket can cash regardless of the final outcome.
While I don’t love paying –140, I believe the lower total offsets some of the extra juice. If this number had moved to 5.5, I would have passed because the value would no longer be there.
Prediction: Brewers score 6 runs
